Signify streamlines multilingual catalogue production
Signify needed a more efficient way to manage and produce multilingual product catalogues for multiple markets.
Producing catalogues with large volumes of technical product data often results in disconnected workflows between product management, marketing, and publishing teams. Maintaining consistency across languages, product specifications, and imagery can become time-consuming and difficult to scale.
To improve this process, Signify worked together with Omiteo and Channel Studios to create a connected workflow for structured product data management and catalogue production.
The Challenge
Signify needed to produce a multi-page catalogue in four language variants for both print and digital use.
The challenge was not only the catalogue production itself, but also managing:
Structured technical product data
Multilingual product content
Product images and digital assets
Consistency across all outputs
Efficient update and correction workflows
Without a centralised workflow, multilingual catalogue production can quickly lead to duplicated work, manual corrections, and inconsistencies between language versions.
Signify was looking for a scalable process that reduced manual handling while keeping product information consistent across all catalogues.
The Solution
Etimix was used as the central Product Information Management (PIM & DAM) platform for managing product data, classifications, and digital assets.
The Signify team used Etimix to centrally manage and enrich product information while coordinating multilingual content and market-specific requirements across all catalogue versions.
Using Etimix, Signify was able to:
Centralise product data and digital assets
Manage multilingual product information from one source
Structure and enrich technical product data
Reuse approved content across multiple catalogue versions
Reduce manual copy-paste work
Streamline publishing workflows with Etimix Auto Pub
While Etimix provided the structured product data foundation, Channel Studios supported the catalogue production process with publishing consultancy, page layout expertise and automated catalogue artwork production.
By combining Etimix and Channel Studios, Signify worked from one connected workflow for both product data management and catalogue production.
This improved consistency across all language variants and reduced manual work throughout the publishing process.
The outcome
The first catalogue was successfully delivered in four language variants for both print and digital use.
The new workflow helped Signify:
Improve consistency across multilingual catalogues
Reduce manual handling and repetitive corrections
Reuse structured product data more efficiently
Streamline collaboration between teams
Create a scalable process for future catalogue production
The project showed how structured product data and connected publishing workflows help reduce complexity in multilingual catalogue production.
Following the first catalogue, additional catalogue projects are planned throughout the year.
